Discover Egypt on a Budget: 8-Day Cairo and Nile Cruise Tour

After breakfast, you will meet your tour guide at 8 am and start your tour of the Giza pyramids, where you will see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Chefren, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Valley Temple, and the Sphinx. You will have lunch at a local restaurant and then continue to the Egyptian Museum, which houses more than 250,000 artifacts and the golden treasures of Tutankhamun, discovered by Carnarvon in 1920. You will end your day by strolling around the Old Market, the center of Islamic Cairo, where you can shop for souvenirs and handicrafts. You will then transfer to the railway station and take a sleeper train to Aswan.

You will arrive in Aswan and transfer to your 5-star Nile cruise ship. After check-in, you will have lunch and then visit the unfinished obelisk, a massive red granite monument that was intended for Queen Hatshepsut. You will also see the High Dam, a huge engineering project that was completed by the Russians in 1962. You will finish your tour by taking a boat trip to the Philae Temple, a beautiful island temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. You will return to the ship and enjoy dinner and a folklore dance show.

You will have breakfast and then sail to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the temple of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple that honors the gods Sobek and Horus. You will also see the crocodile mummies museum, where you can learn more about the sacred animals of ancient Egypt. You will sail to Edfu and have lunch on board. You will then visit the temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to the god Horus. You will have afternoon tea and watch the sunset over the Nile. You will have dinner on board and join a Galabia party, where you can dress up in traditional Egyptian costumes and have fun.

You will have breakfast and sail to Luxor, the ancient capital of Egypt. You will have some free time on board and then have lunch. You will then visit the Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex in the world, and the Luxor Temple, a magnificent temple that was connected to Karnak by a long avenue of sphinxes. You will have dinner on board and enjoy a belly dance show.

You will have breakfast and disembark from the ship. You will then visit the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs were buried in rock-cut tombs. You will also see the temple of Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh who ruled Egypt, and the colossi of Memnon, two giant statues that once guarded the entrance to a temple. You will then transfer to the railway station and take a sleeper train back to Cairo.

You will arrive in Cairo and transfer to your hotel. You will have a free day to relax or explore the city on your own. You can also choose from some optional tours, such as a day trip to Alexandria, the pearl of the Mediterranean, or a visit to Coptic Cairo, where you can see the oldest churches and synagogues in Egypt.
