Tour Itinerary

Two-day tour to Luxor begins as early as possible according to your scheduled flight, as you will be collected from your cruise ship for one of our Safaga tours to Luxor. You will then drive for over three hours across the Eastern Desert. Luxor is famously known as the largest open-air museum in the world, and this claim is definitely justified. During our Luxor tour, your very own private Egyptologist will take you to visit the following places:

Karnak Temple Visit:

A fabulous collection of sculptural beauty awaits you at the Karnak Temple complex that lies 2km off the city on the East Bank of the Nile. This kind of location was previously called Ipet-isut, translating as ‘The most worshipped place’. The construction of the temple complex of Karnak began in the 16th century B.C. and lasted over two millennia with each king enhancing its size creating a monstrous structure. Also known as the Great Temple of Amun, the Karnak Temple complex contains the largest temple devoted to worship in ancient Egypt and is famous for its Hypostyle Hall in the Great Temple of Amun. A midday meal will also be included in the Luxor tour excursion.

Luxor Temple Visit:

This vast temple complex of Ancient Egypt is found on the east bank of the Nile River in the present-day Luxor, Ancient Thebes, and was built circa 1400 BCE. In ancient Egyptian, it is called ipet resyt which randomly translates to that building's southern sanctuary and was designed for the Theban triad of Amun Mut and Chons in the New Kingdom times. The temple complex had a corridor of Sphinxes that connected it to the Karnak Temple. During the tour, a lunch meal will be provided in a nearby restaurant. After the excursions, you will be taken to a hotel for Check-in and overnight. In addition, you will have the optional chance of watching the sound and light show at Karnak Temple in the evening.

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel and navigated across the Nile River to the West Bank of Luxor, where the old burial grounds of Thebes are located. Because of the vast sites and endless numbers of incidents, organized tours almost invariably include visiting three of the tombs at the main archaeological sites.

Excursion to The Valley of the Kings Luxor:

This location was reserved for the pharaohs who wished to be with their gods after death. The Valley of the Kings is home to several tombs of the New Kingdom, including the famous tomb of King Tut, which was found in the 1920s and most of which is still in good condition. For the most part, the tombs are hewn in the rock, and they typically consist of three passages, a waiting room, and a sunken place for the coffin.

Hatshepsut’s Temple Excursion:

The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is located in a remote area of Deir el Bahari, on the cliffs that border the western bank of the Nile, near the Valley of the Kings. Designed by architect Senemut, this temple is dedicated to the sun god Amon-Ra and is located next to the funerary temple of King Mentuhotep II, which inspired this construction and also provided the raw material for the building. This is rightly considered one of the finest monuments of antiquity.

The Colossi of Memnon Luxor Visit:

The Colossi of Memnon is a pair of colossal statues. Most of the tourists see them while going towards the Valley of Kings but one should take their time to look at them in detail. Before heading back to Safaga Port, there will also be a possibility to go to the famous bazaars for shopping where some of you might want to buy good quality souvenirs. You will then be taken back to Safaga Port where a transfer to your ship will be provided shortly after, finishing the day.
