Next, go to the breathtaking Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as El Deir El Bahri or Northern Monastery Temple. This spectacular structure cut into the side of a mountain, was built on the orders of Hatshepsut, who is one of Egypt’s most famous female pharaohs.

The tour proceeds further with views of the giant stone figures known as the Colossi of Memnon, which are two enormous seated statues carved during the reign of King Amenhotep III. These statues are all that survives of the king’s mortuary temple that once stood on the very spot where these colossal figures remain today.
